Celebrate 10th Anniversary Of The Sweetest Race In Town! Chicago Hot Chocolate 15K & 5K Road Race

from Jerry Milani

You’ll want to sign up for RAM Racing’s 10th Anniversary Hot Chocolate 15K/5K Race in Chicago because the race that is already known for having the best goodie bags in running is upping the ante this year with its “Diamonds For The Decade” promotion. Ten runners will receive race medals adorned with diamonds to celebrate the success of the series and another 500 will get a Chicago-themed keychain with a diamond embedded each reward. Of course, you’ll also enjoy the race’s traditional scrumptious post-race treats and RAM’s free race photo benefit!

The popular USATF-certified event hits the Windy City starting at Grant Park on October 29, 2017. Whether you’re a serious or recreational runner, you’ll score Hot Chocolate’s award-winning and always impressive race swag (this time it’s a quarter-zip long sleeve technical jacket). Then, after crossing the finish line where a city specific medal and key chain await you, racers enjoy a mug loaded with fondue and hot chocolate, pretzels, Rice Krispie Treats, cookie straws and bananas. More than 4,000 pounds of melted chocolate are prepared for each race. There are even “sweet stations” on the course that provide delicious mid-race snacks.

The Hot Chocolate Race benefits Make-A-Wish®, a national charity that creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Last season the Hot Chocolate Series drew a quarter of a million chocolate-loving runners and generated over $200,000 collectively for its non-profit partner. The series has generated over $1 million for charity in 10 years and expands to a record 19 cities this season.

Registration for the Hot Chocolate event is open until Thursday, October 26, 2017. Cost for the 5K is begins at $49.00 while the extended distance fee starts $74.00.

The 5K begins at 7:30 a.m.; the 15K follows at 8:15 a.m.
