Admit You're Happy At the Grand Central Oyster Bar's Happy Hour

August is "Admit You're Happy Month," one of those wacky but important holidays. So, be sure you are as happy as can be by making the historic Grand Central Oyster Bar the destination for Happy Hour Mondays through Wednesdays from 4:30 to 7:00 pm and on Saturdays from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The Saloon Bar and Lounge Bar feature a bevy of appetizing appetizers and thirst-quenching beer, wine and spirits.

Looking for a bite? Littleneck clams and Bluepoint Oysters are just $1 and $1.35 each, respectively. Or, if you’re more interested in some classic fried fare, Buffalo Calamari and Calamari with Marinara are both $8.25, as are Fried Oysters with Tartar Sauce. There are also specials on Manhattan ($5.15) and New England ($5.25) Clam Chowders, the best in the Big Apple from the Bishop of Bivales himself, executive chef Sandy Ingber.

And what would a Happy Hour be without some liquid libations? The wide selection includes the white or red house wines for $7.25 a glass; and the Happy Hour beer menu features Yunegling, Rockaway, and UFO White Ale for just $6.25) a pint. That's not to mention its martini specials as well, with the Oyster Bar-tini, Ultimate Unfiltered Martini and French 75 all priced at $9. (from )
